Springfields Horticultural Society Competition for 2021
Delft Competition
Members of Spalding Arts & Crafts Society were invited to take part in a Delft tile painting competition culminating with a display at Springfields Festival Gardens.

The Chairs Challenge. (this is not a competition)
A reminder that the Challenge for the demonstration on the 4th June is an artwork / painting with people in it.
For example a crowd or a cafe scene. Its your choice!
This is open to members & visitors. It can be in any medium and any size - not too massive though or it won't fit on the easels!!
The Chairs Challenge
A reminder that the Challenge for the demonstration on the 5th March is an artwork / painting in the style of Clarice Cliff. You can create something in the style of or paint a picture of a crockery item with it on, the choice is yours - but please don't just copy one of her designs. She did a wide range of styles but I'm looking for bright & cheerful.
This is open to members & visitors. It can be in any medium and any size - not too massive though or it won't fit on the easels!!
The images are examples of her work but there are many more online to give you inspiration.

Demonstrations
We have demonstrations by visiting artists on the first Tuesday of each month, apart from January. A chance for us all to see how the professionals do it, and pick up some useful tips. See below for the list of demonstrators.
The demonstrations are held at Pinchbeck Village Hall, from 7.30p.m. to 9.30p.m. Entry fee: Members £3.00, Non-members £5.00.
We have a break half way for tea, coffee, chat, and a chance to have a closer look at the artist's work, and usually at other examples of their work. Some also have equipment for sale.
We will also be selling surplus materials & books at each demo.
At the demonstration evenings members can have a table to display their craft work, or "6 of the Best" of their paintings. Members can get together and share a display if they wish. So you don't have to find 6 paintings!
Speak to a committee member if you want to book the table. Please do join in and show us your work.

At the meetings, although there is no legal requirement to wear face coverings, we have no objection for people to use their own discretion regarding the wearing of facemasks.
Please come with the correct money, entrance is currently £3.00 for members & £5 for visitors. Tea / coffee will be provided.
Should you wish to join / rejoin the membership fee is £20.00.
Hand sanitizer will be available and the hall will be well ventilated.
Please keep checking your emails in case there are changes in the regulations.
