A member showing their "6 of the Best"

Charles Evans

We have demonstrations by visiting artists on the first Tuesday of each month, apart from January. A chance for us all to see how the professionals do it, and pick up some useful tips. See below for the list of demonstrators.

The demonstrationa are held at Pinchbeck Village Hall, from 7.30p.m. to 9.30p.m. Entry fee: Members £2.50, Non-members £4.50.

We have a break half way for tea, coffee, chat, and a chance to have a closer look at the artist's work, and usually at other examples of their work. Some also have equipment for sale.

We have a raffle at the demonstration evenings, tickets £1 per strip. Prizes can be collected in the break.

At the demonstration evenings members can have a table to display their craft work, or "6 of the Best" of their paintings. Members can get together and share a display if they wish. So you don't have to find 6 paintings!

Speak to a committee member (we all wear badges at the demos) if you want to book the table. Please do join in and show us your work.

See below for details of the Spring Challenge

The December Challenge this year was to create a picture 12"x4.5" for the Facebook banner - our own choice of subject.

The FB banner is changed monthly to that month's demonstration. As we have no meeting in January we needed some pictures.

We had 11 excellent entries which were then numbered and our Chairman Mo Teeuw and the December demonstrator, Vic Bearcroft each drew two tickets.

The 'winners' were:

Maggie Goodsell - Autumn Bales. She said the sun caught the bales in a local field and made a perfect picture. the challenge gave her the impetus to paint them as the format suited perfectly.

Gill Harker - Rox. Gill challenged herself to create a painting in an hour. "I discovered that you can produce a piece of art using very little paint and a small amount of pen but is still pleasing to the eye."

Donna Halfteck - Seaside Special. Donna said she wanted to paint a picture that would cheer people up in the winter months.

Liz Wellings - The Mill on the Hill. Liz said she chose the subject as it was ideal to fit the given shape.

Unfortunately Gill Harker wasn't at the meeting so is missing from the photograph,
